Q2 2006 –
Princeton University Facilities Engineering and Thermo Systems Mark Energy Savings Achieved By New Thermal Energy Storage Plant

Thermo Systems attended a breakfast marking the one year anniversary of the commissioning of the Princeton University Thermal Energy Storage Plant. Engineers from Princeton University Facilities Engineering, Carter and Burgess Engineers, Skanska USA construction management and Thermo Systems were on hand. All were pleased to note that the energy savings realized in the first full year of operation exceeded original estimates.

The construction of the chiller plant expansion was completed in 2005. Thermo Systems provided a turnkey automation solution for the new 40,000 ton/hour thermal energy storage tank, two new electric chillers, eight heat exchangers, a new cooling tower, and integration of the electrical gear. In addition, Thermo Systems integrated the chiller plant expansion with the existing plant as well as the existing cogeneration facility.
