Thermo Systems Receives Bio-Pharmaceutical Critical HVAC Automation Construction
Award
Thermo has been selected to provide a turn-key Allen Bradley PLC based HVAC automation
solution for a leading Exton, PA based biopharmaceutical manufacturer. Thermo
Systems shall design, build, and commission the HVAC controls for this laboratory
and vivarium expansion and renovation. Construction is underway and commissioning
shall begin in October of 2008.
Several proprietary commercial HVAC building automation system (BAS) solutions were
considered by the owner. However the Thermo Systems proposal, which takes
a process approach to the critical HVAC systems, was determined to be the most beneficial.
The owner benefits include a more detailed approach to the project documentation,
construction and commissioning. In addition, Thermo Systems non proprietary
solution using the latest Allen Bradley micro-PLCs offered the owner flexibility
in their choice of future suppliers for service and continued expansion.
This project will be led by Thermo Systems Lead Control Systems Engineer Paul Luzietti.
Mr. Luzietti is a Drexel University graduate who has led multiple validated pharmaceutical
HVAC BAS projects for Thermo Systems.
