Thermo Systems Ships First Panels for Rare Earth Mining Project
Molycorp Minerals LLC, the world’s largest producer of rare earth oxides outside of China, has partnered with Thermo Systems to design, build, and deploy a state of the art Site Wide Automation System for their flagship Mountain Pass, CA mining operation. Leveraging 14 years of experience in automation design, chemical process engineering, power plant automation, and automation construction management Thermo developed a customized Systems Integration Deployment Plan to manage this fast track, large scale project.
The first Allen Bradley PLC panels serving the manufacturing process, designed and built by Thermo Systems, were shipped this month. The total automation package will consist of over 100 PLCs connected to a network of 60 plus user workstations designed, programmed, and commissioned by the Thermo Systems team.
